CHUNG U. CHUNG, MD
Originally from South Korea Dr. Chung attended the College of Medicine-Chonnam National University where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1969. He went on to complete his rotating internship at St. Lukes Hospital in Newburgh, New York in 1974 and a General Practice residency at Maryview Hospital in 1976. He has been in private practice since 1976 serving the Hampton Roads community. In his free time Dr. Chung enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren.
DONALD L. COCHRAN, MD
Dr. Cochran obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978 and continued his education at the F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine (USUHS) where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1985.
He completed a Pediatric Internship at Brooke Army Medical Center in 1986 and a Family Practice Internship at Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia in 1992. By 1994 his Family Practice Residency was also completed at Columbus Regional Medical Center. Dr. Cochran has held several professional or teaching appointments during his career including Instructor, University of Maryland, Human Biology: Genetics, Assistant Professor Eastern Virginia Medical School, Chairman, Department of Family Practice at Portsmouth General Hospital and Maryview Medical Center. He is an avid movie buff and enjoys spending time with his family.
MANSUKHLAL R. RAMOLIA, MD
Dr. Ramolia was born in Jam-Jodhpur, India. He attended M.P. Shah Medical College in Jamnagar, India where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree. His internship was done at M. P. Shah Medical Hospital in 1972-1973 and he was a Pharmacy Junior lecturer at MP Shah Medical College in 1973-1974.
Dr. Ramolia was a House Physician at Youvelle Hospital, Cambridge Massachusetts. His Residency in General Practice took place at Obici Hospital and CHKD-MCV and was completed in 1979. Shortly after his residency Dr. Ramolia went into Private Practice in Chesapeake, VA and was the sole provider where he developed long lasting relationships with generations of patients. In 1995 First Care PC was formed where he began practicing in a group setting.
DR. ROGACIANO M. DAJAO
Dr. Roger, as he is fondly called by patients and staff, graduated from the Cebu Institute of Medicine in 1972 and taught at his alma mater for a year before moving to the US in 1973 shortly after marrying his classmate, Dr. Rise Faith Espina, one of our other First Care physicians. He completed an internship at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, CT and a General Practice residency at the Maryview Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. He has been in private practice since 1976 in Portsmouth and Chesapeake. He is involved in sociocivic affairs in the Filipino-American community of Hampton Roads. He has 2 children: Rori Christian who is an architect turned physician and a father of one daughter and Fiona Janine who works as an Executive Coordinator for Sidecar, an internet company and mother of 2 daughters. He is a proud PAPA to 3 granddaughters : Stella, Francesca and Sofia. He used to love to play golf but gave that up, he says, to “drive Ms. Daisy” (Dr. Faith) to Philadelphia where their children and grandchildren live. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is currently President of First Care, P.C.
DR. RISE FAITH ESPINA DAJAO
Dr. Faith graduated at the top of her class at the Cebu Institute of Medicine, Magna Cum Laude in 1972. She had one year of Surgical Residency at the Cebu Velez General Hospital before moving to the US in 1973 with her husband of 2 weeks, Dr. Roger, who is another physician at First Care. After a year as a House Physician at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, VA, she was accepted for an Internship at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, CT then returned to Portsmouth, VA to complete a General Practice Residency at Maryview Hospital. She opened her own practice in 1978. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She has been involved in social and civic affairs and in medical politics having served as the President of the Maryview Medical Center Medical Staff and President of the Portsmouth Academy of Medicine. She has also served on the Board of Bon Secours Hampton Roads. She enjoys being MOMMY to a son (Rori Christian, an architect turned OB-GYN resident), and a daughter (Fiona who works as an Executive Coordinator for Sidecar, an internet company) and MARMEE to 3 granddaughters (Stella, Francesca and Sofia).
LISA HILLS, NP
Lisa Hills is a Family Nurse Practitioner. Lisa joined the practice in 2015, after graduating from Walden University with a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Old Dominion University, as well as an Associate Degree of Nursing from Medical Careers Institute. She is ANCC Board Certified, and belongs to the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners. Prior to joining our practice, she worked as a Registered Nurse with Bon Secours, and traveled to varying hospitals. She also has experience in Critical Care/ICU, Cardiac nursing, Chemotherapy and Oncology, as well as Medical-Surgical Nursing.
BERNICE FRANCIS, NP
Ms. Bernice Francis received her Bachelor of Science degree from Hampton University and started her nursing career as a registered nurse in medical, surgical and cardiac specialty units at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was also an adjunct professor at Norfolk State University for several years before earning a Master of Science degree with a role emphasis as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Hampton University in 1995. In her efforts to reduce health disparities among minorities, Ms. Francis volunteers to provide First Aid as well as promote health and wellness through education at health screenings and community events. In April 2004, she received the Excellence in Nursing Award from Hampton University School of Nursing. She also received Provider of the year award from the Portsmouth Community Health Center in 2005. She is a member of The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority. Her hobbies include reading and book club discussions, traveling, jet skiing, movie watching and the Arts.
LISA FETTERS, PA
Lisa Fetters MPA, PA-C was born and raised in Hampton Roads. She graduated from Western Branch High School, married and raised two wonderful sons. She was actively involved in the community and ran a successful business for 10 years prior to pursuing her medical career. Lisa returned to school studying Biology and Chemistry at Tidewater Community College and Old Dominion University. She had the unique opportunity to work in Microbiology Research at Eastern Virginia Medical School as an undergraduate. Lisa received her Master of Physician Assistant from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2013. She worked in Intensive Care prior to joining the First Care Family in 2014. Lisa practices at both our Taylor Rd and Winchester offices. License: Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Medicine. Certification: National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Kaycie Cartwright, PA
Kaycie Cartwright is a native of the Midwest but has been in the Hampton Roads region since 2009. She started her medical career while still in highscool; taking night classes to complete her nursing assistant certificate and work in a local nursing home. During college, Kaycie worked in several medical specialties as an aid including an Alzheimer's care unit, autistic prescool, and several developmentally delayed group homes. She reveived her Bachelor of Arts from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She received her Masters of Physician Assistant advanced degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Kaycie has practiced emergency medicine for several years since graduation. She is also a 1LT in the Virginia Army National Guard and has spent 13- months deployed in the Middle East. Her medical interests include remote medicine and medical relief work. Her hobbies include camping, hiking, biking, and travel. License: Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Medicine. Certification: National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
